Have you heard of Lake Summerside? This lake is a 32-acre man-made lake in South Edmonton which is open and available for your use and enjoyment 365 days of the year!
Lake Summerside and the following amenities are open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM. The Summerside Beach Club is exclusive to the yearly members in the Association. The beauty of Lake Summerside is the care, maintenance, and upkeep of both the lake and the surrounding amenities. This includes preservation and management of wildlife, lake and weed growth, and cleanliness of the beach. All you have to do is show up, and enjoy everything Lake Summerside has to offer.
Summerside Beach Club Amenities and Features
- Fishing
That’s right, you can go fishing! Lake Summerside is full of rainbow trout for you to fish. To ensure proper spawning, members are allowed to catch two fish daily, up to a maximum of 12 fish per month.
- Boating
Rent a kayak, canoe, paddleboat, or bring your own out onto the water. All we ask is that our members carry proper life protection, and share the lake with others respectfully.
- Tennis Courts
Book a tennis court at Lake Summerside, or show up for a first-come-first-serve basis on the second court. Remember to practice physical distancing and bring your own rackets and tennis balls!
- Mini-Golf
Practice that perfect putt at the outdoor mini-golf course at Lake Summerside.
- Beach Volleyball
Enjoy the outdoor beach volleyball courts, and get your toes in the sand. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer out on the beach playing volleyball in the sun.
- Hockey Rinks
Keep busy outdoors this winter! Our beach club includes frozen hockey rinks for your use.
- Community Parks and Paths
Spend some time outdoors rain or shine, with all of the surrounding parks, trails, and playgrounds near the Lake Summerside beach.
- Swimming
Of course! With sandy beaches and ideal temperatures, Lake Summerside in Edmonton is the perfect place to sit back, enjoy the rays, and take a dip in the lake.
- Beach Club Hall Rental
Rent the entire Beach Club Hall for your next event! Featuring over 1000 square feet of space, this building fits up to 80 guests comfortably, 64 if serving food. Contact the Lake Summerside Residents Association for more information on booking this space.
Summerside Beach Club Events
While the Summerside Beach Club is usually a bustling hotspot of community events, this summer and this year, we’ve all been adjusting to physical distancing measures due to COVID-19, and summer events have been postponed or canceled.
Everybody is looking forward to safely reopening at a later date, and celebrating community events once more at Lake Summerside. Keep an eye on the Community Events page to see upcoming events that are updated monthly.
One fun event coming up for the Summerside Beach Club is Woofstock – a day dedicated to spending time outdoors with our canine friends! Bring your pup down to the beach on Saturday, September 5, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, and let your dogs socialize outdoors while you enjoy some fresh air.
